Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

The Journal of Pedagogical Research (JPR) is committed to the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of its published scholarly content.

JPR deposits its published full-text articles and associated scholarly content in the Internet Archive as part of its external digital preservation arrangements. Current and retrospective journal content is deposited progressively to support the long-term preservation and continued public accessibility of the scholarly record.

Published content deposited in the Internet Archive can be accessed through the journal’s Internet Archive repository.

The Internet Archive provides an external preservation layer independent of JPR’s primary website and publishing platform. This arrangement is intended to support continued access to the journal’s scholarly record in the event of technical failure, platform migration, discontinuation of the journal website, or cessation of publication.

In addition to external digital preservation, JPR maintains operational copies and regular backups of its website, article files, and associated metadata through its publishing infrastructure. These operational backups support routine recovery and service continuity but are supplementary to the journal’s independent external preservation arrangements.

All published articles are assigned persistent Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), supporting persistent identification, citation, discovery, and linking. DOIs complement, but do not replace, independent digital preservation.

Authors are permitted to deposit the published Version of Record of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, and other appropriate repositories without embargo, in accordance with the journal’s Open Access, Copyright, and Licensing policies.

Through these preservation and archiving arrangements, JPR seeks to ensure that its published scholarly content remains discoverable and accessible over the long term.
