Article Processing Charges

The Journal of Pedagogical Research (JPR) is a Gold Open Access journal. All articles published in JPR are made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication.

To support the costs associated with the professional production and dissemination of accepted manuscripts, JPR applies an Article Processing Charge (APC), which is requested only after a manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication. JPR is committed to full transparency in its publication practices, and APCs are used solely to support sustainable, high-quality open-access publishing. Financial considerations do not influence editorial decisions in any manner.

The standard Article Processing Charge (APC) for the journal is 1500 USD per accepted article. No fees are charged for manuscript submission, peer review, or editorial evaluation. In addition, no charges apply to manuscripts that are not accepted for publication.

The APC covers post-acceptance publication services only, including professional typesetting and layout (galley preparation), copyediting and final proofreading, DOI registration and metadata preparation, online hosting and long-term digital archiving, as well as open-access dissemination and platform maintenance. The APC does not include peer review or editorial decision-making processes, nor does it cover language editing or translation services.

Editorial Independence and Ethics

JPR strictly adheres to international standards of editorial independence and publication ethics. All editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, relevance, and methodological quality. The ability or willingness of authors to pay APCs has no influence on the peer-review process or editorial decisions.

Payment Procedure

APCs are requested only after the final acceptance of a manuscript. Payment instructions are provided together with the official acceptance letter, and no payment is requested or processed prior to acceptance. All APC-related procedures are handled as an administrative process entirely separate from editorial operations, ensuring that financial matters have no influence on the peer-review or editorial decision-making process.

Waiver and Discount Policy

JPR is committed to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing. Full or partial APC waivers may be granted to authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries, in accordance with the World Bank classification, as well as for invited articles and editorials, special issues approved by the Editorial Board, and authors with documented financial constraints. Requests for APC waivers may be submitted after the acceptance of a manuscript and are evaluated independently of the editorial decision-making process.

Licensing and Open Access

All articles published in JPR are licensed under a Creative Commons license (e.g., CC BY or CC BY-NC), ensuring wide dissemination and reuse in accordance with open-access principles.
